HATED IT IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT:Bought a couch. Paid for delivery. 1 smelly, old man who can barely breathe arrives at my house - this is the delivery I've paid for??? Oh and the couch that was jammed into the back of his crappy mini van was the damaged floor model which I did NOT agree to buy. I reluctantly agree to help carry it because clearly, it's the only way it's getting up the stairs at this point..Couch gets jammed in the stairs well (because I'm not a strapping delivery person) and after trying to unjam it, I tell the delivery guy to take it out and come back with 2 guys to move it. He says he will leave it jammed in the stairs and he'll come back another time with another guy!!! Ummmm...nope!After we load it back into the minivan, I head down to the store where I tell the sales guys (who I purchased it from) the following:Me: I didn't purchase the damaged couch off the floor, and you specifically said you had them in stock! "I want my money back"Sales guy: "Oh, you wanted a new couch???, ok then I will order you a new couch"Me: "NO, I just want my money back"Me: "And you should have told me that I would not only pay for delivery but have to lug it up the stairs too"!!Sales guy: "Then next time, you better pay full delivery price"!Me: (about to climb over the counter and throat punch this creep)Sales guy: "I will order you a new couch"Me: NO! I want my money back and I don't want a couch from this place now"Sales guy: "Good, because we don't want to sell to you anyway"!OMG!!!!!! ok, smelly guy from another country (that has great indian food) - there's a reason this business has a really bad reputation in the valley, and I can guarantee that me and anyone associated with me will NEVER step foot into this store again!!
This company should not be in business. It is by far the worst business I have ever bought anything from. I was pressured into buying this recliner and it was delivered damaged. It was repaired but not after many phone calls where I was out and out lied to. I now have to take it in to get repaired less than 8 months of use at my cost.Do yourself a favor and shop anywhere else but here. I don't understand how a company with such a dismal record can still be in business. Beware!
The owner is not professional. Had a deposit down on a couch and he lied and said he has to phone his boss that was away and he was the boss. I had to almost fight to get my deposit back.I will never recommend people to go here and will definitely spread my experience.
I don't write bad reviews, and today is the exception. My mother who is 67 was shopping for furniture today and went into G&H Furniture & Mattress Ltd. to have a look. The sales person, Sukh Sandhu told her that she had to buy something today. My very sweet and overly polite mother said that she was only looking and was not able to buy today, but was going to buy in a few weeks. In a very rude and forceful manner Mr. Sukh Sandhu then told my mother to get out of his store because she was wasting his time. My mother's voice was shaking when she called me after visiting the store. When I told my friends who live in Comox about what happened they instantly knew what business I was referring to because they have also had a very unpleasant experience in the same store. I would not recommend this business to anyone and am writing this review in hopes that it saves someone the pain of having to deal with such a rude and disrespectful salesperson.
I gotta love these reviews - which I'm sure are accurate - but, as I just bought a recliner there (cheap), I have to add my two cents worth: there's no question these guys operate like a Surrey-slum business, and to be racist/charitable, the Odeur de Curry does permeate the place, and your transaction. I have no idea how they have survived 15 years in operation without a 40% ethnic clientele base to support them - maybe their grandfather left them the building rent free? And when I parked out back, the designated "smelly old man" (see other reviews) was indeed stuffing an oversize sectional into the back of an old Plymouth minivan. The hatch wouldn't close, but as it was raining heavily he did have the 'decency' to tarp the portion hanging out the back. Whatever that customer paid for delivery, they should get double their money back, ha! But, I did walk in knowing exactly what I wanted, and bought it at the advertised price. I also got to load it into my van off the sidewalk on 5th street. In the rain.
