I discovered this beautiful walking trail by accident, and I am so surprised I never knew it existed. I don't think it is very well known or talked about compared to other local trails, and every time I've walked this trail, it is very quiet and peaceful, hardly any people! It is the most gorgeous trail I've ever seen around here. The views are amazing, this trail has everything you could possibly want to see on a relaxing, easy walk. There is phenomenal ocean view all along the trail. If you park in the small parking area on Chinook Rd, you can follow the trail all the way up to the Royston Shipwrecks and then some. There is a view of very fancy houses on the other side, it is very fun to just look at all the houses and their amazing landscapes, and you will also see a few ponds along the way, and one that has fish. At some point the trail dwindles into a forest, so the walk also gives you a taste of the woods. There are benches along the way for taking breaks, and an outhouse located near the Shipwreck lookout. The path is flat, well packed and well cared for, walking from Chinook to the end of the trail and back at a leisurely pace takes just less than an hour. At some point there is an older trail that was washed away in a storm, which is fun to climb across for more adventurous folks.

Great trail that goes for miles. People don't know that you can walk the trail in front of the houses back yard. Housed in area do not own beach area, so it's public access.

Very nice trail, easily accessible with a stroller or wheelchair. Very short 15 min roundtrip. Picknick area. Would love the trail to reach downtown Courtenay.

Would be nice if there was a bridge leading to the other wrecked old boats so you are able to see them and maybe also some information near the boats on the old boats and how they got there. Other then that really like the area and look of the those old wrecked boats.

It's a beautiful place to just sit and watch fish jumping, seals, and birds doing their thing.
