Great people and comfortable rooms. Amenities are as expected and perhaps nothing really Special, but it fits the price point. And the staff really work to make things as good as they can. It's a good, inexpensive place to stay!
I've stayed in a few $70 to $100 a night motels in Courtenay, and they were cleaner and nicer than this awful hotel (which they charge $135 a night!). The room smelled like the furniture of an senior citizens house that smoked a pack a day inside since 1945. The TV image was so crappy I felt like I was stealing cable. The bathroom was disgusting so I opted out of taking a shower. The one saving grace was the nice front desk staff - but such does not make up for the revolting room. I've literally slept in train stations nicer than this place.
Clean rooms, friendly staff. Convenient location at a reasonable price. Would stay again.
Rooms were clean and had all the required amenities. They were dated but for the price it was a great deal, breakfast was good and they had a nice pool. Will definitely stay here again.
Disappointed with our stay so far at the Courtenay Travelodge by Wyndham. We are a family of 4 plus our dog. Upon check in the lady at the front was rude. We asked for another room as the one we checked into originally smelt like cigarette smoke so bad it smelt like someone just finished putting a nasty butt out. Where we were staying for 11 days we really wanted to make sure it wasn't going to stink the whole time or cause any breathing issues for any of us. The second room they tried to put us into hadn't been cleaned yet from the previous guest and they were unaware of this. The third room was at least clean smelt like some elderly lady's perfume tin had exploded but nothing opening the window couldn't solve. The recycling from the previous guest hadn't been gathered either (no big deal) however this is something that shouldn't have been left. The first few days housekeeping was pretty decent but it vastly went downhill soon. We have our dog with us like I mentioned and our room has NOT ONCE been vacuumed. There's been 4 times throughout our stay that we have not been given extra toilet paper. Only a few sheets left in a roll and 3 of those times we have gone to front desk to ask for more. Our beds have been haphazardly made; sheets not changed after requested and just pulled up and made it look like it have been changed. The tub and toilet haven't been cleaned once at all during our stay. You can imagine summer with two little children running about outside and how filthy they easily become; how often you would need to bathe them and how gross the tub would be after. Much to my dismay, there has been a ring around the tub for a week. Today's non vacuumed room was our final straw. My husband went to ask for a vacuum cleaner to do it himself and was told "all the staff went home and we have no key for that room." He can back a little upset and started clearing the dog hair with his foot. He promptly went down asked for a broom and a dust pan to sweep it all up and took it down they didn't care at all. Just said "Thanks for bringing it back." Disgusting! I will not be coming back. To have to pay out of pocket for this type of service is disgraceful.
